literature review

I attempted to write a substantial amount under each of the 3 main headings in my lit review chapter. I am more of a developer than a researcher but I enjoyed assembling the selected articles and readings into a reasonably coherent whole. The first section served to show the development of the problem that my project is aimed at alleviating. The second section discussed what has been uncovered relative to teaching vocabulary explicitly but within a communicative context. Section three briefly discloses how technology is being used to both do research and to provide tools for learning and teaching vocabulary. I am getting a little bit more comfortable with the idea of publishing a study.

After a long time of not being able to post

I am able to get into do some writing now. Since my last post I attended an international applied linguistics conference in Costa Mesa. There were several renown scholars in the field of vocabulary studies in a colloquium on computer assisted lexical studies. I had read at least one book by each of them. They came from Japan, Hong Kong, England and Turkey. Each researcher had been tasked by their National Govt. to create a vocabulary standard for large English language instruction programs. Computers have given the field of voc. studies a strong boost because they can analyze mountains of data rapidly.
